How We Began

The Warren Historical Society was founded in 1964 by Warren citizens interested in preserving the history of Warren and its people by collecting artifacts and documents related to Warren's past. Today the collection has grown to thousands of artifacts, photos and documents. At the urging of Edwin Boggs, Sr., Dr. Campbell left his large residence at 255 Main Street to the Society in 1983. Upon the death of Dr. Campbell, the Warren Historical Society moved its entire collection into the building, now called the Dr. Campbell House and Museum.

Today, the society maintains the museum and holds programs for members and the general public. On Warren Day, the society holds an open house with free tours.  Tours on other days are by arrangement (207)-273-2726 or warrenhs@tds.net).
